This fly is most important during March and early April. We prefer to use it in long riffles or runs of water on larger streams in the Smoky Mountains like Little River, Deep Creek, the Oconaluftee River, Cataloochee Creek, and Hazel Creek.
Also important on streams in the surrounding Cherokee, Nantahala, and Pisgah National Forests.
