Our favorite midge pattern for the tailwaters

This is a sensational midge emerger for any of our tailwaters here in East Tennessee. The body is made of wire so it sinks very well and a black bead adds more weight without the gaudy sheen of a gold bead.
This pattern almost never lets us down when the fish are are sipping just under the surface. Use it alone or as a dropper under a dry fly. It also fishes well in tandem with other nymphs like the Zelon Nymph, Pheasant Tail, or sow bug patterns.
