We’ve been working on a new book and it will be out soon!
It’s Trout Flies for the Great Smoky Mountains and Surrounding Waters – Advice From the Guides. This book showcases approximately 50 flies used around the Smoky Mountain region, tells you how to fish them, the best times to use them, and has detailed instructions how to tie them.
Many of the flies are older traditional patterns while others are modern. We discuss some of the history surrounding the old time patterns while describing all the qualities that make them valuable even today. Some of the best flies that catch trout in the area came from other parts of the country and we include those as well, plus we also include some of the best patterns for use on the big tailwater trout rivers in the region.
The book is still in production so there are some uncertainties about exact length and price, but the book will be a pretty good size coming in around 200 pages and will be in full color.
We’ll keep you posted when it becomes available for order!
