We’ve had the usual March weather roller coaster in the Smokies but are happy to report that spring fishing is well underway. There have been regular hatches, the first black bears have been sighted out from hibernation, and turkeys are starting to gobble. All are definite signs of spring!
Fishing will continue to be solid through May in all sections of the Smokies as we continue to expect a variety of hatches. Quill Gordons, Blue Wing Olives, and Blue Quills along with Early Brown Stoneflies have been the most prevalent up to this point. We should start seeing Hendricksons, Yellow Sallies and Sulphurs in the weeks to come.
Get out and spend some quality time on the water!
