We’re all settled in here at TroutHunter on the beautiful Henry’s Fork in Idaho a short distance from Yellowstone National Park. Everyone met their guide at breakfast, discussed their experience level and preferred methods of fly fishing, and headed out for the water. We Arrive in the Rockies and Hit the Water
The first stop on our Western tour this year is Thermopolis, Wyoming. This is a relatively obscure town that is home to the largest mineral hot spring in the world as well as the Bighorn River. When most people here that name they immediately think of the section of river in Montana below Yellowtail Dam. […]

Quick Pic: Bear Cub Up A Tree
It’s been a streak of trips that have all included bear sightings. This bear cub scrambled up a tree and was almost directly over us as Mom kept her distance. We snapped a couple of quick photos and moved on.
Quick Pic: Dragonfly Nymph
Exceptionally common in all rivers, streams, and lakes throughout the Smoky Mountain region this is a fish food many fly fishers ignore. Most anglers tend to think of them more in the context of bass fishing, but we found this nymph in a Smoky Mountain brook trout stream.
